Description
Classic Solitaire is the world-famous, traditional single-player card game that almost everyone knows, often just called "Solitaire." Its official name is Klondike Solitaire. The game is played with one standard deck of 52 cards. The setup has seven columns of cards on the main table: the first column has one card face-up, the second has two (one face-down, one face-up on top), and so on up to seven. The remaining cards form the draw pile. The goal is to build four foundation piles—one for each suit (hearts, diamonds, clubs, spades)—starting with the Aces and ascending in order to the Kings. You move cards between the seven columns by building descending sequences in alternating colors (for example, a black 10 on a red Jack). You can flip over face-down cards in a column when the face-up cards are removed. You draw cards from the pile to get new options. The game is won when all cards are moved to the four foundation piles. It’s a game of patience, strategy, and luck that became a global phenomenon as a digital game, especially because it was pre-installed for decades as Microsoft Solitaire on Windows computers. Today, it’s available on every phone and computer, often under the name "Classic Solitaire" to distinguish it from other versions like Spider or FreeCell.
